THOMAS A. FOWLER: AUTHOR OF NERDY THINGS

Which is mostly science-fiction.

Award-winning author Thomas A. Fowler began writing terrible plays and scripts in high school. Getting the garbage out of the way as he learned how to properly construct a setting and orchestrating an action scene, Fowler’s first published piece came in 2012 with a short story in RuneWright Publishing’s Penny Dread Tales: Volume III - In Darkness Clockwork Shine. From there, he continued to see other short stories published by Story of the Month Club and Write Illusion.

His writing aims to entertain while aspire to the world we could create, rather than accept the reality we’re living in currently.

Fowler has also self published several books, including the Shatter Your Image anthology, helping out Realize Your Beauty, a non-profit focusing on positive body image and eating disorder awareness. His Crash Philosophy, featuring dozens of stories from as many authors, is a playground for readers, letting you choose your character and setting to deliver a different reading experience in a sci-fi take on the Choose Your Own adventure setting.

His feature novel, The Thales, is published by Nerdy Things Publishing, and is the first installment in the Rising Current Trilogy.

Fowler is also the co-author of the Porcelain Prompts series, a set of writing prompts centered around different themes, each one just long enough for a visit to the porcelain throne. He and co-author Melissa Koons won the Living Now Book Award in 2018 for their work on the series.

His inspirations come from smart, entertaining science fiction like Michael Crichton and Andy Weir, as well as the phenomenal local authors surrounding him in the writing community.
